Hate Kibble? Your Cat is Still a Hunter.

My feline loving friends, there is a lot of controversy over what to feed your cat.  I bet you are having strong feelings just reading this.

You know what there is no controversy about?  Your cat is a hunter. And, how you feed your cat is just as important as what you feed your cat.  You need to find a way to give your cat the hunting experience in your house every day.

Why is it so important?  In nature, cats spend 80% of their waking hours hunting for food.  This is their natural physical and mental exercise. When cats do not have a normal outlet for their innate prey drive, they experience anxiety.  They get bored, and fat and even sick.

This is not up for debate.

Late October 2018, The American Association of Feline Practitioners released a consensus statement that cats should hunt for food in new locations throughout the house every day.

So, how do you feed a prey based diet and still feed the soul of your predator?  You can feed your rations in smaller portions, moved around the house.

Then you can use a few pieces of freeze dried meat or even just some bonito flakes in Doc & Phoebe’s Indoor Hunting Feeder.  Put one or two of these treats, or a pinch of bonito flakes inside the three mouse shaped feeders for each cat, and hide them before you leave the house in the morning and before you go to bed at night.  Your cat can recreate the hunting experience of hunt, catch, play and eat at least 6 times a day, in addition to its normal meals.

Prey.  Eat. Love.
