Set Your Kitten Up For Success (Part 1)

Spring is the time for new beginnings, flowers and sunshine and ….. kittens.

Veterinarians know that there are three critical steps to preparing your cat for a long and healthy life.

1 – Get your kitten vaccinated, dewormed and spayed or neutered.

2-  Socialize your kitten with positive exposure handling, grooming, traveling and other cats and dogs during the critical socialization period between 2-14 weeks of age

3- Set up your living space to meet your cat’s innate emotional needs need to climb, hide, scratch and hunt.

Did you know that the way you care for your kitten can impact its entire life?  Kittens who are well “socialized” between 2-14 weeks of age are more likely to be calmer and more adaptable to the human world.  And cats whose innate emotional needs are met have decreased life stress and live happier, healthier lives. We humans bond with these cats more easily and they make better companions.

Read and share these tips to set up your kitten for success.
